This recently refurbished pub has taken over from the much maligned "Valentine"; which due to a succession of poor management became a by-word for trouble, with nearby resident's lives made unbearable by gangs congregating in the car park.
The "Valentine" was mysteriously firebombed in December 2006 and was closed for over a year. In that time residents made their opinions very clear when a new licensee wanted to re-open the pub. Due to campaiging by Parish and Borough councillors and support from Aintree Village Neighbourhood Watch, a set of conditions were applied to the new licence.
In January 2008 "The Village Inn" opened for trade and has been a huge success. The pro-active management has meant the bad days of the past are gone and local neighbours say their lives are peaceful once more.
The pub serves an array of traditional food, including their very popular Sunday lunch.
