Aintree Conservative Club

The Conservative Club in Lancing Drive was founded in a shed on Ormskirk Road in 1948 by local business men, notably Sammy Bleasdale.
In the course of the house building programme in 1953, Mr Bleasdale built Bleasdale Hall and presented it to the local Conservative Association in perpetuity to be called Aintree Conservative Club.
The present club buildings were added during the 1960's and 1970's. Extensive refurbishments were carried out in the 1980's and 1990's which created the club as it is today.
The club consists of a function hall, a lounge, a bar and snooker room with four full size snooker tables. The club is part of the local community with 95% of its members residing in the local area and is affectionately known as "The Conny Club".
The club is open to the community for line dancing, children's fitness clubs and bingo; there is also an OAP's club.
The club has snooker and bowls teams which compete in local leagues and sponsor Aintree Villa Football Club. The club has on several occasions hosted the annual Parish Council Civic Awards ceremony.
